Liisa Barnes Bennefield, is a native of the Bailey’s Crossroads area of Falls Church, VA.  She attended J.E.B. Stuart High School where she played on the 1987 AAA State Girls Basketball Championship team under legendary coach Ronald Wilson.  Liisa also played AAU basketball as she was growing up for the Potomac Valley Vogues.  As a college basketball player Liisa played under Cathy Parson (former Washington Mystics Interim Head Coach), where she scored over 1,000 career points, played on a Div III Sweet 16 team, and won 3 conference championships.

Liisa comes to PSPA with 16 years of coaching experience.  She was the JV girls basketball coach at Hampton High School in Hampton, VA.  Liisa also coached 10U and 11U girls AAU basketball with the Boo Williams Summer League.  She has been involved with coaching a number of high school and little league boys teams in the Bailey’s Crossroads area as well.
